There are so many islands in South America. Today we will be looking at just a few. 

  1. Chiloe Island, Chile

Chiloe Island is known for its fairy tale-like atmosphere. The colorful wooden houses, the chilote mythology, the legends of witchcraft, forest gnomes and ghosts, make this place magical. So if you like to travel with your mind this is the perfect place.

  1. Galapagos Island, Ecuador

I am sure you have heard of the Galapagos islands. This is an archipelago of about 40 volcanic islands. The most famous islands are Santa Cruz and San Cristobal. In 1835 this island became famous thanks to Charles Darwin, who was inspired by the fauna and flora to write the theory of evolution. This is the perfect destination for nature lovers.

  1. Easter Island, Chile

This is probably one of the most famous islands in the world. This fame is thanks to the statues Moais, built by the Rapa Nui civilization. This is considered the most isolated place on earth, so a trip to discover how this ancient culture developed is a must. Easter Island is about 3,800 km away from the Chilean coast.

  1.  Suasi Island, Peru

Suasi Island is faraway from the tourists routes. This is a trip for people that like adventure. Located 4 hours by boat from the city of Puno. This is the only private island in lake Titicaca. Here you will enjoy a marvelous panorama of the lake while contemplating the perfection of nature.  

  1. Ilha Grande, Brazil

Ilha Grande is 150 km away from Rio de Janeiro. Here you will be able to relax and enjoy a special kind of journey. You will not see any motor vehicles, because there aren’t any. This is a real paradise. The breathtaking beaches melt into the dense forests creating a perfect heaven.
